Privacy
Short version: we store your email address so we can email you, plus a coarse country so we know where readers are. We don't sell anything, and unsubscribing removes you from every future send instantly.
What we collect
Your email address. Given by you, confirmed by you clicking a link. That click is recorded with a timestamp — it's our proof you actually opted in.
Approximate location. Country, region and city, resolved at our CDN edge when you sign up. Used only for an aggregate view of where readers are.
A one-way hash of your IP address. We never store the address itself. The hash is keyed with a secret, used only to rate-limit the signup form, and is not reversible back to an IP.
How you found us. The referring page and any campaign tags in the link you clicked.
Email engagement. Whether a message was delivered, bounced, opened, or had a link clicked. Bounce and complaint data isn't optional — providers require senders to act on it.
What we don't
No third-party analytics, no advertising pixels, no cookies on the public pages, no cross-site tracking, and no selling or renting the list to anyone, ever. The only cookie this site sets is an admin session cookie, and only for us.
Who else sees it
Amazon Web Services (SES) delivers the mail and therefore processes your address. Vercel hosts the site and Neon stores the database. That's the entire list.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record afterwards so we can prove we stopped mailing you and never accidentally re-add you. Signups that are never confirmed are deleted after 72 hours.
Getting rid of it
Click unsubscribe in any email — it works on the first click, with no confirmation step. For full deletion including the suppression record, email team@startupsventures.coand we'll action it. If you're in the UK or EU you can also request a copy of what we hold; same address.
